Eating with Jenny!

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

I’m visiting my 6 year old granddaughter Jenny in Hudson Bay, Sk. She is very petite and a picky eater but she loves corn on the cob. We just ate the best corn on the cob. It was juicy, tender and sweet. I was reluctant to buy it because it was white in color. Boy, was I surprised! It turned pale yellow when it was cooked and was so good!

Relaxing on Long Island, NL

Lush's Bight, NL

Today, I’m enjoying the beautiful weather and the relaxing atmosphere in Lushes Bight on Long Island.

My main meal today will be fish stew. Fresh cod cooked with potatoes, onion and olive oil is one of my favorite fish dishes. My mother always added scrunchions (fried fat pork) to her fish stew. It really put a wonderful taste to it. Today, I like to use oil for a healther choice. It’s still delicious!

85th anniversary of our United church

Thursday, July 8th, 2010

I attended the 85th anniversary of our United church last Sunday. It’s located on a small island called Long Island in a  community called Beaumont. I live in a  town called Lush’s Bight on the same island. It’s very pretty. I attended church today and really enjoyed it. Icould see the newfoundand flag blowing in the breeze when I looked out through the colored windows in the church.  The windows are gold, green and red. It reminded me a little of my splashpage for my website.   It’s a good omen, I think.
